Hot Chamber Die Casting and Cold Chamber Die Casting
Hot chamber die casting and cold chamber die casting are two main methods in the die casting industry for producing precision aluminum alloy parts. Each process has its unique characteristics, advantages, and limitations, making them suitable for different materials and applications.

How are aluminum die-cast parts manufactured?
Aluminum casting molds, made of hardened tool steel, must be divided into at least two parts to allow for the removal of the casting. The aluminum die-casting process allows for the rapid, continuous production of tens of thousands of aluminum castings. The mold is securely mounted on a die-casting machine. The fixed half of the mold is stationary, while the other half (the injection mold) is movable. Depending on the complexity of the casting, aluminum casting molds can be simple or complex, incorporating movable sliders, cores, or other components. At the start of the die-casting process, the die-casting machine clamps the two half molds together. High-temperature molten aluminum alloy is injected into the mold cavity and solidifies rapidly. The movable half mold is then opened, ejecting the aluminum casting.
Magmasoft® Aluminum Casting Mold Flow Testing
Elimold utilizes the internationally recognized MAGMAsoft® simulation technology to optimize mold design and aluminum casting quality. MAGMAsoft® simulation capabilities help users better understand various aspects of aluminum injection mold filling, high-pressure aluminum die casting, solidification, mechanical properties, thermal stress, and deformation. MAGMAsoft® features a fully menu-driven design, integrating a solid modeler, CASD interface, and a vast database, providing a complete solution for design, production, and quality departments.
Elimold Offers Different Aluminum Alloy Materials

Vacuum Assisted Casting
Elimold manufactures aluminum die-castings using vacuum-assisted casting. Vacuum-assisted technology helps expel air from the mold cavity as the metal is injected into the mold at extremely high speeds (milliseconds). Additionally, during the die-casting process, mold coolant or lubricant is sprayed onto the mold cavity surface while the part is being removed from the mold and the mold is open. Vacuum assistance helps reduce the gas generated by residual mold lubricant in the mold cavity before the aluminum enters the mold. This minimizes porosity formed during the solidification stage. Vacuum assistance is an essential step in the aluminum die-casting process for producing sealed, leak-free die-cast parts.
