Types of Copper Die Casting

We offer comprehensive copper die casting services using both hot chamber and cold chamber die casting methods to meet a wide range of material requirements and project specifications.

Hot Chamber Die Casting Elimold

Hot Chamber Copper Die Casting

Hot chamber die casting is a high-pressure die casting process suitable for low-melting-point copper alloys. Unlike cold chamber die casting, the injection system in hot chamber die casting is immersed in molten metal, resulting in a faster and more efficient casting process.
Cold Chamber Die Casting Elimold

Cold Chamber Copper Die Casting

Cold chamber die casting is a high-pressure die casting process suitable for high-melting-point metals such as brass and copper alloys. Unlike hot chamber die casting, where the injection mechanism is immersed in molten metal, the cold chamber die casting process keeps the molten metal separate from the injection system.

High-Vacuum Copper Alloy Thin-Wall Structural Component Casting

Our production technology team precisely controls melt quality, high vacuum levels, and intensification pressure to eliminate internal defects. This ensures pressure integrity, allows for T6 heat treatment, and meets the stringent strength-to-weight ratio and electromagnetic interference shielding standards for aerospace and high-end electronics products. Furthermore, we employ closed-cavity vacuum technology (cavity pressure <50 mbar) to achieve clean filling of thin walls (down to 1.0 mm). Multi-stage injection molding ensures laminar flow, followed immediately by high-pressure intensification (>800 bar) and pulsed mold cooling. The final result is dense, fine-grained components with excellent mechanical properties and stability.

Quality System and Compliance

Quality and reliable service are our top priorities. All copper castings are designed, engineered, manufactured, and tested to the highest standards. Throughout the manufacturing process, all castings undergo regular inspections, and their chemical composition is evaluated before casting to ensure the alloy composition meets requirements and customer specifications. Internal resources supporting our casting and inspection operations include:

  • Fully equipped chemical and mechanical analysis laboratory
  • Certified materials
  • Team of metallurgical engineers
  • Heat treatment facilities
  • Fully equipped machining workshop
  • Optical emission spectrometer
  • Pressure testing
  • Liquid penetrant testing
  • Mechanical fracture testing
  • Silver-tin plating

Secondary Machining

In the manufacture of copper die-cast parts, secondary CNC machining is crucial. These precision machining processes include drilling, tapping, milling, and reaming. Secondary machining can refine dimensions, improve surface finish, and create more complex features on die-cast parts that are impossible to achieve during the casting process. This includes drilling holes to install fasteners, adding threaded screws, and more. CNC can also remove residual burrs or flash from castings, ensuring a satisfactory final part appearance and usability for assembly processes.

Alternatives to Copper Die Casting

Copper die casting alternative process metal forming

Forming

Forming is a process that uses methods such as extrusion, stamping, forging, and rolling to create metal parts to achieve the desired shape. Forming can be automated or manual. While forming can be used to produce precision parts, it is less efficient than copper die casting for mass production.
Magnesium alloy die casting Metal Injection Molding Service

Metal Injection Molding

Metal injection molding is similar to copper alloy die casting, except that it uses metal powder instead of molten metal. Similar to die casting, metal powder is injected into a mold and pressed to form the shape, after which it can be removed from the mold. Metal injection molded parts have extremely high precision (±0.004 inches). Like die casting, metal injection molding is also an ideal method for mass production of parts in a short time.
