What is PETG Plastic Material?
PETG (or copolyester) is ethylene glycol-modified PET; the modification method involves adding a second type of ethylene glycol during the polymerization process. The resulting molecular structure is irregular, and the material is transparent and amorphous with a glass transition temperature of 88°C (190°F). PETG has a wider processing range than traditional PET and possesses excellent properties such as toughness, transparency, and stiffness. This material is known for its excellent transparency, impact strength, and chemical resistance. Chemically, it is very similar to PET, but due to differences in molecular structure, it has better toughness and thermal stability.

PETG Injection Molding Plant
Our plant is located in Shenzhen, China, covering an area of over 10,000 square meters. Our PETG injection molding production line boasts over 130 fully electric injection molding machines equipped with appropriately sized barrels, minimizing heat treatment time during the PETG parts molding process, thereby maximizing the performance and consistency of each injection molded part. Our injection molding machines range in tonnage from 15 tons to 2200 tons, meaning we can produce PETG plastic parts weighing from 0.1 grams to 3600 grams. All machines are equipped with an RJG system, enabling us to monitor cavity conditions and develop the most reliable PETG molding processes for specific parts. We apply scientific molding principles to the PETG injection molding process.
Post-Machining Services for PETG Injection Molded Parts
Elimold’s professional PETG injection molding services meet a variety of unique manufacturing needs. Our solutions cover material grade, mold design, surface treatment, and part geometry. Custom mold design ensures consistency and tight tolerance control (±0.01mm) for complex shapes. We offer surface treatment services such as polishing, texture etching, or antistatic coating. In addition, we offer custom color matching and secondary finishing services such as CNC machining or ultrasonic welding. Our team validates each design through prototyping before full production.
One-Stop Shop for Custom Molding Solutions for PETG Plastic Parts
When designing custom PETG injection molds, Elimold’s staff assists customers throughout the entire lifecycle, from customer needs and design, prototyping, mold making to final production. We also offer suggestions for design improvements to PETG plastic parts to facilitate mass production and assembly. Even in emergency situations, we can produce, procure, package, and ship parts on time, making Elimold your one-stop shop for custom molding solutions for PETG parts.

In addition to custom PETG part designs and reverse engineering, we also offer expedited manufacturing and delivery, and other value-added manufacturing solutions.
Quality Control and Inspection
To ensure the highest quality of PCTG injection molded parts, we implement a comprehensive quality control process. Our quality management team meticulously inspects molded PETG parts for surface defects such as bubbles, weld lines, cracks, warpage, and discoloration to guarantee aesthetic and functional quality. For parts requiring high precision, we use precision tools such as coordinate measuring machines (CMM), calipers, or micrometers to verify product dimensions, ensuring strict compliance with design specifications and tolerances (typically within ±0.05 mm).
If part projects require mechanical tests such as tensile strength, impact resistance, and optical transparency, we can provide these to verify that the parts meet performance standards for durability and transparency. Elimold’s factory implements statistical process control (SPC) and an online defect detection system to continuously monitor production consistency and quickly resolve any deviations.

PETG Injection Molded Part Design Guidelines
As with injection molded parts made of other materials, maintaining uniform wall thickness is crucial to avoid warping and shrinkage issues. Remember that thicker walls require longer cooling times. Ensure sufficient draft angles are set so that parts can be easily demolded. For PETG, a draft angle of 1 to 3 degrees is recommended. Thin-walled sections should be reinforced with ribs and bosses, while thick-walled sections should be reinforced with gussets or fillets.
