What is Polysulfone (PSU)?
Polysulfone (PSU) is a type of sulfur-containing thermoplastic closely related to polyethersulfone (PES). The structure of polysulfone consists of aromatic groups (typically containing multiple benzene rings) linked by sulfone groups. Polysulfone is generally a high-cost, rigid, amorphous material with low hygroscopicity. Reinforcing materials can improve toughness and further enhance dimensional stability, but will make the material opaque. In addition, polysulfone also possesses high strength, extremely high surface temperature limit, low creep, good electrical properties, transparency, self-extinguishing properties, and resistance to greases, various solvents, and chemicals.
